I guess it will be it.
2020 was the year I committed to blogging more often. At least, one post every week. I have already failed 2 or 3 times.
Seth Godin and Austin Kleon write one blog post every day, for years. Derek Sivers tried it too. And many others have committed to it.
I have had this idea in mind for a few months now. Always postponing the decision to the near future. A future where I would have more time, energy, and guts. Not sure when that would be the case, but I kept waiting.
Until last Sunday. I was doing my weekly-review (through journaling) and somewhere along those lines I wrote: "I want to write 1 blog post every day, for 1 week." A few hours later, when setting my weekly priorities, I glanced over the journal entry and thought: ok, I guess it will be it.
Many were the times I remained paralyzed by a decision. Not saying yes, not saying no. In Portugal, we call it "nim". A combination of yes (sim) and no (não). "Yes" because we want to do it, "No" because we don't commit.
What will I say every day, for 7 days? I don't have the ideas. I don't have the leverage. I don’t have the need. I don't have the time. I don't write well. I don't have more excuses.
The solution lies in the courage to say: I guess it will be it. And it will.
